West Yorkshire Hardship Project

Making a difference to people in hardship or poverty when they need it most.

Home » About us

Who we are

We are a registered UK charity (1179305) who provide and support people in poverty within West Yorkshire with the care and advice they need to survive and move forward. Our weekly outreaches in Dewsbury and Leeds provide everyday living essentials and signposting to essential housing and support services. In the past, our charity was known as ‘Batley Homeless Project’ and its Trustees’ changed the charity name to West Yorkshire Hardship Project in August 2020, following the Covid -19 pandemic, to be more inclusive to those people who have suffered financial hardship post the virus.

Our vision

All our people are all volunteers who share the same compassion and desire to help those most in need. We are part of the Leeds Homeless Charter and are recognised as one of the most respected charities within North Kirklees.

Our charity strongly believes in cohesive working with other community organisations to provide the greatest level of support to as many people in need as possible.
