We will continue our weekly support over lockdown
5th November 2020
Our weekly outreaches in both Dewsbury and Leeds will continue throughout lockdown.
However, in the interests of the health and safety of both our volunteers and service users we will be making adjustments to our usual services:
Our Key priorities:
- Keeping greater social distance of volunteers indoors.
- Reducing direct close contact with service users outdoors.
- Avoiding large gatherings outdoors.
4 Bond Street, Dewsbury WF13 1AG
Due to the reduced number of volunteers indoors, we are only operating a bag only service in Dewsbury every Friday from 4.45pm to 6pm approx. ALL service users are encouraged to wear face coverings outdoors where possible.
The bag will obtain essential weekly food items such as tinned and dried foods. In addition, a sandwich and cold drink will be provided.
**No hot food, hot drinks, clothing or toiletries will be provided over the initial lockdown period**
**Emergency bags (subject to urgency and needs) can be arranged by appointment only and picked up separately to our normal Friday opening.
Our Leeds Walkabout Outreach will continue every Thursday in Leeds City Centre from 6.30pm. Only small teams of 2 people can walk together. Hot meals, snacks and additional support materials e.g. sleeping bags can also be provided.
No gatherings of people are allowed. Social distancing must be maintained at all times.
We really thank everyone for the support and understanding.
Our wonderful volunteers are key to continuing to deliver our services and I really want to thank them for their ongoing commitment to help people and the compassion they show.
Keep safe everyone.
